Hoorah!!

I have finished piecing the centre of my Nearly Insane quilt, and now have to make the border. Sure hope it fits without too much drama.

Now to decide what colour to do the zig zag border. I have the pink and green as per the original quilt, and I hope that it looks good with the rest of the quilt.

Thanks for taking the time to look

Along with my Nearly Insane…

Quilt I have been hand piecing a Trip Around the World. A quiltalong organised by Brigitte Giblin. I have really enjoyed this, and still have a few rows to complete before I call it a day! 2015-03-11 16.57.46

Also I have been hand piecing a hexagon quilt. This has been a very long winded project – at least 10 years in the making, but Its one of the UFO’s I’m determined to finish this year if I can!

I had been randomly stitching these hexies together, then saw a picture of an Antique Quilt and decided I liked the layout better, so started piecing the centre as in this photo.

Now I have to try and fit all the strips around the centre somehow. I may have to unstitch some and move them, but that’s OK!

Thanks for dropping by, I can’t believe 2 posts in 2 days. Wonders will never cease!

I can’t believe it’s been……

so long since I posted to my blog. I have no real excuses except that when I want to post on one computer and download photos I have trouble going to the other one to finish off. If I have written part of my post on my desktop, then for whatever reason go to my laptop to finish it, I can’t ‘cause it ain’t there. Does any-one else have issues trying to sync their Windows Live Writer between their desktop and their Laptop?

Anyway enough of that, I have been fairly busy trying to finish my Nearly Insane quilt. The sashing I chose is a cream with a light green sort of diamond pattern on it. It doesn’t really show up on the photo, so next time I take a photo I’ll take a close up of the sashing and cornerstones.

I haven’t quite finished all the rows yet but have it sort of draped over the bed to take a photo. The next major step in finishing this quilt is to choose the fabric for the Zig Zag border! I have a pink and a green that I intended using when I started this quilt. I might have to make a border of those two colours and test it before I make the four.

I hope you haven’t given up looking at my blog, and thanks for taking the time to look.
